Terms of service
Effective July 17, 2026
These terms govern your use of tended.money. They're written to be read, not skimmed — but the short version is: be honest with us, keep your account secure, and remember that we show you your finances, we don't advise on them.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using tended.money, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. One account per person, please.
2. The service
tended.money is a personal-finance service: it connects to your financial accounts, tracks transactions, and helps you budget. The service is offered in a free tier and a paid Plus membership, and certain AI features consume AI credits, which can be included with a membership or purchased separately.
3. Not financial, tax, or legal advice
tended.money organizes and displays your financial information, including estimates such as tax projections and AI-generated insights. None of it is financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Estimates can be wrong. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified professional.
4. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
5. Memberships, credits, and billing
- Paid memberships are billed through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled.
- You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- AI credits are consumable as you use AI features. Purchased credits don't expire while your account is open, but they are non-refundable and have no cash value.
- If a charge fails or a subscription lapses, we may downgrade your account to the free tier.
- Prices may change; we'll give you notice before a change affects an existing subscription.
6. Acceptable use
Use tended.money for managing your own finances. Don't attempt to access other users' data, probe or disrupt the service, scrape it, resell it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Bank connections and third-party services
When you connect a financial institution, you authorize us and our data provider, Plaid, to access and retrieve your account data — balances, transactions, and account details — on your behalf. You can revoke this at any time by disconnecting the institution. The service also depends on other third parties (Stripe for payments, AI model providers for AI features), and their availability is outside our control.
8. Data accuracy
Balances, transactions, and other financial data come from your institutions via third parties. They may be delayed, incomplete, or occasionally wrong. Your bank's records, not tended.money, are the authoritative source.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we may discontinue the service with reasonable notice, in which case we'll refund any prepaid fees for service not delivered.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for financial decisions made based on information shown in the service.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If a change is significant, we'll update the effective date above and notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which tended.money's operator is established, without regard to conflict of law rules. Questions about these terms are welcome at [email protected].
